How soft is she?
Like the babies bottom
When his mother’s got em’
Held in her loving arms
How far gone are we?
That the scenery replaced
Looks nothing like home
Nothingness stares you in the face
How bad will get?
Before the better arrives
Before the feather of the dove
Falls gently from the night sky
When will it heal?
The wound that grows
Infected and congested
Spreading upwards from the toes
Who will speak?
When spoken about
When badmouthed and slandered
The verdict is out
What will it mean?
To hear him scream
To see him burned!
As the fire rages
Who will confess?
The sins of mankind
The burdens of demons
The heathens of our time
Where will you be?
When the day arrives
The time for justice
As sure as the sunrise
When will you learn?
How to compromise
Not to criticize
Paralyzed
With arms by your side
How will it end?
When straight lines bend
As prophesies prove false
The future obscured

The repeated question theme insists the reader take a moment and contemplate its answers. This is a very emotive piece, I can almost hear the questions being shouted at the sky. |
