FamilyPoems

You and I are a fist,
we lace limbs
lovingly tightened
to grip against the sky,
shaking our furious embrace
in the face of short lives,
fragile, precious,
we grip with desire & vows.
As a hand we cup
sinews of fidelity & trust,
the phalanges of marriage
in good grasp carries,
our digits weave by compliment,
a dedication to perserverance.
In ardors labor
true bonds alchemical
a grace in blending,
loves kuckles embraced
spirals wise
as the ring binds,
the prizes of each other is won,
a great match teaches the crowd,
the sweet science of a true bout.
Detached, dismembered,
appendage extent,
stabbing pointing
twitches stiff;
testing
the capacity to reattach
with measured
diminished loss.
Our words are sacred
healing by treatment,
the ointment of committment
salves our souls.
By the 'cats craddle'
of issues, problems & turmoil
family is a yarn to stretch taut,
a simple telephone
for future ears to press upon their open cup
to listen.

This is a great poem. I had wondered where you have been hiding all these months! |
