Velvet My Brother

How can you be so happy
When you feel oh so sad
Why do things happen, where is the future plan
Why do they die, and leave us all behind
How can we try to pretend that we are blind

I lost a friend today, he was the kindest kind
With no time to stray he always limped behind
Unspoken were our words
Without meaning our mentions they were heard
I lost my brother today, he was the canine kind
I lost my friend today, he was the better kind
Almost greater then the brother of the human skin
He would just sit there, take heed and he would listen

I lost a pal today, the kind that'll never be replaced
Oh no, what will we do, is there someone else
Oh no you're right, there will never be a someone else
I gained another friend, the same the went away
He is up there in the sky, with a helping hand

I miss my pal, my friend, the only one who'll understand
I lost my way today, but I've found a means to another way
I lost my pet, my dearest old friend
I will always remember the sweet velvet tender

You will always be there in my heart and my mind
My dearest little dog of mine
I'll see you when i get there, my little pet called Velvet
