when the shattered soul of life
reflects the mourning moon
and the music of the winds
play a fleeting sorrowful tune
you catch a glimpse of fate
and the betrayal of its boon
your consumed of what you fear
when the winter comes to soon
the wall of lies was broken
when the sun fell away
and now alone you stand,
it’s the price that you shall pay
the cold is unrelenting
no more warmth from now missed day
darkness is your shadow
when the winter comes to stay

A compelling read. Well cadenced, stayed on topic, strong, dark tone and a great repeating line.
