I'm over it
like the belated Christmas present that never arrived,
it's been long and it's my fault,
waiting too long for things to change
and I've come to the realization that it never does -
and never will.
Dreary faces, broken-down places,
soiled dreams, lost, deprived - no more.
Wait no longer, no more,
it won't pass till I've settled the score.
Written off, like a page torn from a book
to be burned, to be lost in time past
to forget all the questions ever asked.
It's over.
