I used to look up to the stars dreaming of a life,
a life of love,
a life of happiness,
a life that would've involved you.
Dreaming that one day i would look upon your face,
hold you in my arms close to my heart,
trying to please you, do everything in my power for you,
to give you a life that you deserve, a special part.
My little one that I love, this sun shines for you,
but in this time where my dreams came true,
I had to make big decisions that were unthinkable,
I looked and searched, couldn't see you.
I let you go for that second too long,
I cried and pleaded hoping to not be alone,
I turned my back when I thought all hope was somehow none,
I ran so fast, but was far too late, you were already gone.
My heart lies broken on a sea of words that mean nothing,
Seeds of my line diminished and broken,
I cradle you in my mind, holding you forever, never letting go,
Devoured by worries and thoughts of love unspoken.

jackson21,
I am twice divorced. I have five daughters. Four a still alive. The distance these two divisive experiences placed between my daughters and me is a tremendous source of pain. Your poem reached in and touched me there.
