Of all things in the world, the blood was unsurpassed.
Crimson, reminiscent of rubies.
Precious sustenance, tasted brackish.
The flesh, so pale--unscathed--was broken, wounded.
Some called it transgression.
I called it: ardor.
The liquid inferno once coursed through my veins.
And when it had all gone, what was I then?
Beyond the grave? Lost? Depleted?
The blade, it was there, the cut was made.
Poured out of my skin, like wine.
Pooled in places, profusely moving along my flesh.
I felt it, I licked my fingertips.
Succumbed, and licked my lips.
My once scarlet lips.
I gazed upon the imperfection.
Pink around the fresh cut edges.
A slice on the breast.
Oh, gods, I felt so alive!
Deeper still.
Throbbed in pain.
The laceration began to weep.
Dripped off the areola, like rain on leaves.
My heart shattered one final time.
`Tis miserable to say; we will not meet again.

wow
the last line, first of all -
just made it even more beautiful.
a good ending, to something so wonderful.
you really are a master of language
use of words and phrases and just poetic beauty!
reading this: 'Oh, gods, I felt so alive!'
and indeed i did.
