How many times must we go through this before we realize that it's not working?
Why do we hurt each other when there are so many other ways to do this?
Lets just walk away and pretend that everything isn't falling apart infront of us.
We shall go our own ways and live the seperate lives we should have had together.
Before we leave we shall share one last embrace, because in your arms I feel safe.
I'll kiss your lips and tell you "I love you" one last time like I always used to do.
Today is the day that we move on, not as lovers, but as friends.
So before you slam the door this one last time, turn to me and say goodbye.
As good as I know this is for us, I must swallow my pride and try not to cry.
You were my saviour, my lover, my friend and I will always be with you, forever.

i'm trying to be in that same place now. just say goodbye. oh, this definitely touched me. sometimes i wish i would get that 'one last time'. for closure, maybe. just to feel like that again.
to feel good about a goodbye.
