You Talk like Leather (I guess we gotta fall in love)

Contributed by Franciswolf on Saturday, 15th December 2007 @ 08:17:49 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You talk like leather, all tough and hoarse
Keep on the point as you go off course
Try to pin it down in a few simple words
But it comes off flat and unrehearsed
I guess there’s no use, we gotta fall in love

And I reply in quotes I wrote on sleeping pills
Keep lying on your couch in a way that kills
Find ten things wrong in the way I walk around
Till we contrast and compare the ups and downs
And find it’s no use, we gotta fall in love

Well thank you Jupiter, Venus or Mars
Astrology’s *****, I don’t get the stars
But a book said some alignment put me in your arms

Well here comes December, all snow and mud
Can’t shake the fever that’s in my blood
If you come around and call me, I figured that you would

Because I guess we’ve no choice, we gotta fall in love

All this snow is laughing at me
Ha, Ha! You turned your back, now you’re happy
I don’t get the way this world works

Went out searching till someone found me
Ha, Ha! Your search failed and now you’re happy
I don’t get the way this world works

But you keep talking like leather, all tough and hoarse
Keep on the point as you go off course
Try to pin it down in a few simple words
But comes off flat and unrehearsed

And I reply quotes I wrote on sleeping pills
Keep lying on your couch on a way that kills
Find ten things wrong in the way I walk around
Till we contrast and compare the ups and downs

And find it’s no use, we gotta fall in love
I guess there’s no use, we gotta fall in love
There’s no choice, we gotta fall in love

Sounds like work to me. I couldn't handle some one laying around on my couch talking 'bout the way I walk around. I certainly wouldn't be waiting around for luv to kick in.
good work, my friend.
big huggs, smiles,
emy
