A fool in love

Contributed by mrpeanut64 on Thursday, 13th December 2007 @ 04:49:25 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Separated by this mighty gulf,
Yet only a few steps away
I find I always walk by your desk
And you smile at me everyday

Yet do you really understand
Just what that smile can do
It makes my legs feel very weak
And my heart starts beat anew

Even on those rare days
When you’re feeling down
I do my best to lift the mood
And even act the clown

Should trouble ever come your way
Please do not despair
Just look my way you’ll see my hand
To lift your every care

Although I know I am a fool
For your heart is already taken
I pledge to you my heart and soul
From my dreams do not awaken
