No more cigarettes
out of breath and scared to death
cold and lost amongst the smoke
dreaming what can never be
always a secret; you and me
kiss my forehead, like I mean enough
just while no one pays attention
sweep me in, and pull me under
I'm lost in a thought that never existed
knowing well, I'll never come out of this
breath it in, exhaling out
I watch the smoke pour from your mouth
beneath the lips I dream to kiss
between the fingers of a hand I long to hold
Can you remember, April, spring,
when you made me swear to never tell?
I never told..
there's not much to say past the weight of your words, and your smallest finger in mine;
there's nothing left to know past what everyone can't see;
always a secret, you and me
