Child Abuse

Contributed by CountryChic on Tuesday, 11th December 2007 @ 01:50:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

She was only 7 or 8
She was cute as can be
But there was something about her
The world would never see

Underneath those pretty brown eyes
She tried to hide her fear
She cried herself to sleep
Thinking of the last time he came near

No one at school
Knew about her abuse
Until one day
It showed up on the news

They said a little girl
Had been beaten to death
She was alive when they found her
But this morning she breathed her last breath

They didn't know who
Started this mess
But then her father came out
And he confessed

He was the one
Who left her lying there
Sure... He admitted
But he really didn't care

He was sent jail
For a very long time
But justice was never
Brought to the crime
