Dear Hillock and Me.

Far in the meadows where my
lazy herds of livestock nibbled the tender
tips of not long sprouted grass; as I squatted
over a bolder on the lash hillock.
Hillock, which stood to be my solid
juvenile companion as to this day:
I grew to be a weak ol’ man,
Time gone by, shades of life changed.
Me as a boy fooled around the hillock; me as a youth
romanced around the hillock; me as a father saw
my broods brought up along side the hillock; me a weak o’ man
to this day, yet saw my dear hillock stood unchanged as time gone by.
Afar blurred toxic horizon where fading venoms blue-sky
kissed mother earth lustfully, raised concrete monsters
choking and squeezing its way towards my
dear hillock, my childhood companion.
I heard echoing whispers from the monsters den
conspiring to flatten my dear hillock to make space
for ugly monsters to rise, yet stood benignly, my dear hillock
shielding those far ugly monsters from fatal twisters.
We the oldies raised our offspring
to spring and fly away to lead life
of their own, but narcissistic new-generation
so they are, I never saw them return home.
Lonely as my dear hillock we the oldies awaited for those
dark monsters to flatten our identity and us for sure.
My dear childhood companion and I shall be pounded,
perish together and be gone, for time to transform?
This poor o’ mountain man shall perish for sure, so shall
the tine tribe that dwells down the foothill, cries pounded.
FRANCO.
