Reflection

Inside of her is broken
Although I see her smile
But behind it ,I can see the things
That keep her in denial
She doesn't feel she's strong enough
To make it on her own
But does her soul mean less to her
Than being all alone?
And so what he says"I love u"
Then everythings forgiven?
Despite the way she feels inside
This Hell that she's been living
And silently I watch her fall
But don't know what to do
Baby girl, u can lie to me
But please don't lie to u!
She looks into the mirror and frowns
Not happy with herself
So she puts on all her make-up
With a routine she knows well
But guess what my pretty princess
U still can't hide from me
Behind all of that Maybeline
Is just insecurity
She doesn't think she's good enough
And one day he might leave her
If he did, what would she do
Fall to the ground beneath her?
So silently I watch her fight
And don't know what to do
Baby girl u can lie to me
But just don't lie to u !
Inside of her is so much life
Just waiting to come out
Inside of her is so much pain
That lives in fear and doubt
Why can't she see she's beautiful?
And why won't she be stronger?
This temporary happiness
Why can't she make it longer
Still, I think she's beautiful
Even if she can't see it
And I think she's wonderful
Even if she won't believe it
All the sorrow ends here
Cuz u know what to do
In case u have forgotten
U are me, and I am u !

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
