Rusted Love

Overturned and dried dead leaves
Mindlessly scattered among crooked knees
Rusting away like cogs in machines
Capsized, overrun, an extended lease.
Bury lovers in graves that we build near the shore
You and I, fellow lovers, and many before
The pact we once made has now fallen away
Twisted in sheets and buried decay
The flights we had traveled have seen better days
Their paths now crossed in modest grey
As we lie on the waves and hear peaceful roar
Learn of nymphs and fairies, the things of old lore

This painted such a beautiful, yet somber picture. I enjoyed it a lot. |
