The roads were blustery and visibility was poor
Every time I looked ahead I couldn't look far
I kept looking at my hood and I remembered my mom
When she would sit in the car on days like this
And she would say "Tse Coot It"
It was a slang Ukrainian term for describing the roads saying they were "smoking"
The white roads smoking reminded me of of my mom
just the way those words "Tse Coot It" would come out of her mouth and how I could shyly smile thinking everything she says is so true and I love how the tone of her voice would speak
And now every time the road is smoking
I remember "Tse Coot It"
I just knew my mom was with me at that moment, trying to make me smile
