Images that render my soul useless,
Shadows falling into my eyes,
Darkness it comes pulling at humanity,
Empty space inside my mind,
I hide my thoughts in the back of my mind,
Hoping above all my thoughts are my own,
In the darkness of minds where true evil lies,
Images that render souls useless,
Peoples death falling from towers,
Peoples horror of mortal wounds,
Images of pain again beamed into my soul,
Images of darkness of human souls,
I sit here wishing it wasn't so,
I sit again on my own,
Listening to the screams of utter terror,
Listen an army marches,
Footfall of thunder,
Metal devils fly above,
I watch again the image,
People dying for a noble cause,
Politicians fight for power,
Fighting soldiers feel the pain,
And watch again as blood runs cold.

Firstly, welcome to YPDC ZeroHour!
Very strong first post. Powerful imagery and the repetition creates a driving rhythm in keeping with the tone of the piece. We see such images frequently in the media and consant exposure can create not only a feeling of uselessness but also of apathy, a sense of 'what can I do?'. Words such as these remind us that we can do something even if it is only to feel the injustice.
