Li’ uhibbok, Habibi
‘akhadhta qalbi, Habibi
Hattā thamma la’ mufaaja’aat
Thamma la’ Kalimaat li’ anta
Mish hatta kathir ‘aqdur yaqool, Habibi
Li’ uhibbok, Habibi
Mish ‘aqdur yalif, ghā’ib, Habibi
O, matta?
Oh, When?
I write these words
For you, beloved
For I love you, beloved
Take my heart, beloved
So (that) there are no surprises
There are no words for you
Not so much I’m able to say, beloved
For I love you, beloved
I’m not able to turn away, beloved
Oh, when?
