Goodnight Clayton...

Contributed by LovingWhispers on Friday, 7th March 2003 @ 09:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

While all the tears are falling, still I hold my breath
For I thought I'd feel you always, even in your death
But I sit with shattered heart and a mind of memories
Wondering why it is,that I can't feel you here with me

Could it be I wonder, that I'm denying you are gone
Could my sanity be fading,as I wander all alone
Kindred is for always,no matter where we are
And I've always felt your presence, even from afar

So why am I so adamant to believe or not believe
For a fleeting moment I hope,then cry,and how I grieve
Last night I took a walk,in the rain along the beach
And stood upon the point as the waves crashed at my feet

I looked up to the sky and with the rain upon my tears
Found myself again, wishing you were here.....
I spoke to you in whispers, told again of my love
And still I didn't feel you,no sign from up above

All around was silent, and as I fell down on my knees
I kissed our poems one by one, then gave them to the sea
For I knew if you had really left, gone forever more
You would hold our words one day, on a brighter distant shore

"Goodnight my darling Clayton" I whispered through my tears
And as I placed my hand to heart,I knew I'd always feel you here
