i don’t know nothing
about poetry.
never have.
never will.
i can’t tell
a quatrain
from a
freight train.
but, if i were
to write me a poem,
i’d do one
about
that girl
over there.
she’s just
bad news
waiting to happen.
yep,
if i ever wrote me a poem,
it’d be about her…
look
at her…
ain’t she
something?
why,
she’s just…
just…
a thorn
without
the rose.
