Most people love to talk about themselves
I’m no different, only more aware of it
That’s not poetry, that was a statement
You see I’m caught in the middle of something
A grey sky that the sun has been burning away since birth
Actually the sky was bright and sunny the day I was born
Never mind the fact that it was December
It was a sunny, balmy day when I entered this world
Instead of a spanking, the doctor applied sun block
I could have sworn I told him I didn’t need it
Then again I was too young to remember
I had to ask the other newborns later for the facts
Apparently I staged a cue
In a dramatic attempt to crawl back inside the womb
Looking back now I think I was only looking for attention
Otherwise I would have picked a model or a young actress
Sometimes you have to sacrifice room for a better view
