Chased by memories of the past
On several streets and different sites
Horrible plays by my ghostly cast
Why do they rise against me now?
A dark reminder of years in sorrow,
Wounds thought healed, now reopen
As my ghosts persistently follow
How can I escape their pursuit?
Time didn’t heal, but stung like a lash
Acts on the stage of one’s mind
A decade of misery, here in a flash
What do they want from me?
So, I isolate myself in full retreat
Wanting not to see those I knew
Afraid of old friends I may meet,
Won’t these ghosts leave me in peace?

Regrets of past experiences and mistakes seem to haunt us for eternity. Hopefully you will be able to put these at rest in a reasonable amount of time, for eternity seems a little long. Excellent write! |

Sometimes, facings the past of ghosts, help get throught the present and future......easier this way. Not always a bad thing, will help journey to a new path...hopefully. Well written write. Keep posting

Good write. I think many of us can relate to certain ghosts that can haunt and taunt. You've captured the feeling and the fear well.
Peace,
