Toowillagar’s Trance

Contributed by gribbs on Saturday, 24th November 2007 @ 02:44:59 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Listen to me speak
And shake your head
Look what I do
And roll your eyes
Follow my footsteps
And be lost in the abyss
Fly with me
And choose to be different

Keep the thoughts coming
Of this pathetic world
Keep the guns running
And watch the children fall
Keep the governments lying
For we no longer care
Keep the children starving
For all we do is stare

It’s hard to keep in step with doom
For it grows at a furious pace
It’s hard to look at people who smile
Without wondering what’s inside
It’s hard to speak when no one listens
As they shake their heads in dismay
It’s hard to feel the way I do
At the bottom always looking up

Keith W. Saunders

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
