TEARS

Contributed by gribbs on Saturday, 24th November 2007 @ 12:10:55 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Tell me a story of aboriginal injustice
And the tears begin to flow

Tell me a story of blacks being unequal
And a puddle forms at my feet

Tell me a story of Asian internment
And I’m treading water

Tell me a story of child abuse
And I have drowned

I can so relate to this. I work in Child Welfare, advocating for abused and neglected children and I have "drowned" in the tears I have cried for them. Very emotional.
