Blood Red Dawn

Contributed by Chamaron on Friday, 23rd November 2007 @ 05:23:06 PM in AEST
Topic: fictional

A drop of ink in bottle green,
You are not what you seem.
Tattoo on heart fresh and hot,
All will know that you forget not.

Battle stripes up and down,
Blood will spoil the fated gown.
Promised on war to get your peace,
But never will the battle cease.

Nerves shake like conquered ground,
Chaos, you see, is all around.
Victory on the next hill lies,
Or else the demon within you dies.

Thirst for blood, thirst to quench,
Rush in your men to dig the trench.
Always yearning from this day on,
Each morning births a blood red dawn.

Soon the front line will crumble,
The cursed victor will come to stumble.
In your passion, you overlook mistake,
Eager to leave nothing in your wake.

As sure as the sun sets,
You have found your regrets.
Too late to yield your dying soul,
With fearful eyes, you’ve lost control.
