Sometimes as I'm smiling
The light seeks and destroys
Plunging me into darkness
To places I would rather avoid
I kick and scream
With all of my might
Until I realize I'm tired
There's no point to the fight
Just swim to the surface
Take a deep breath
And realize you're just
Like all of the rest
No one is invincible
Everyone wants the light
But absorb too much good
and you'll lose your sight
In every harmony
There is Yin and Yang
Black and White
Love and shame
You can't ignore
Half of what surrounds you
Embrace the dark
It's always around you
