Friends

Topic: anguished

I got up one day and needed a friend
I never related with many people so I knew that it would not be a human
I went out an looked around but could not find one that was right
Then he came into my life and I was so happy
He was like my child even though I'm to young for one
George looked after me and I loved him very much
He always made me smile and pinched my fingers when he was mad at me
He always listened to me rant and rave and never said a judgmental word.
George was my friend and he died today.
He climbed out of his shell and lay in the sand one more time before letting go of his last breath.
My best friend died today and I feel empty,
I have no one to talk to anymore and no one to care for.
My life feels so empty and I have no one to tell about it.
I feel numb and yet somehow the dagger that was wrought by his passing is twisting in my heart.
I want my friend and miss him so much.
No one can ever replace him in my heart and I will never try
But for now I will let this sadness and pain envelope me like a cloak of darkness
and I will leave the sunlight behind to mourn for the friend of mine who has died.

Maybe he isn't here in his physichal body but still listening in his spiritual one.
Just close your eyes, talk to him and I'm sure he is still listening.
