When I’m watching and they think I’m not, my children do the funniest things
They investigate, probe, scheme, and plot, memories to mind it brings
They’re far away in a world of their own, singing and talking to dolls
Far away in time they have flown not hearing Mommy when she calls
I love watching them this way in play, it makes me feel warm and whole
Putting them to bed at the end of the day, and loving them with heart and soul
