Lovers

When I close my eyes
I only see your face
My heart cries out
For one more taste
Night comes down
When you’re not around
The sorrow I feel
You can only heal
Your beauty, your smile
This space we can reconcile
The pain from the dagger
Causing my soul to swagger
Come back to me
And see what we can be
Our silence broken
With words unspoken
Calling for each other
There can be no other
That’s what stops us
Then we turn to dust
Never knowing the truth
The truth of life
