Canis lupus, running in the night
Canis lupus, to man you give a fright
Running for need, hunting down your prey
Running with speed, any time of day
Canis lupus, a perfect family
Canis lupus, if only man could see
How caring and logical this pack of wolves relate
Sharing and discipline invokes your inner state
Canis lupus, no sound as you appear
Canis lupus, I stare, but you just leer
Powerfully reminding me, my place here, on this earth
Imagine, being one with you, fills my heart with mirth

Good write on a beautiful but so often misunderstood animal. I like how you started the first two lines of each stanza with the Canis Lupus, it draws that much more attention to the animal. This was a nice read. Thank you for sharing.
Peace,
Laura |
