My Kryptonite

Contributed by spike on Thursday, 15th November 2007 @ 10:41:15 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I fly the skies with perfect ease,
cape billowing out behind
do pretty much as I please;
the outfit’s gay, but I don’t mind

But put me near a pretty girl
—one who promises sweet delight
and I go green and almost hurl,
like I’m exposed to kryptonite!

With the fairer sex I’m such a geek;
knock ‘em through the nearest door
I forget the ladies are so weak, and
fly them till their skin is raw
squeeze ‘em till they gasp for air,
then set fire to their hair
(burn them with my laser stare)

I’m graceful when above the clouds,
steadfast in the face of crime
or posing for adoring crowds,
but with the ladies - super slime
saving the Earth is easy work
but with girls I’m such a jerk!
bizarro in my etiquette,
as I roast Barbie
to a flesh briquette

I’m an heroic kind of guy,
averting terrible, worldwide fates
from way out of town, who can fly!

…but I just can’t get those second dates.

Oh you silly man, you made me smile with this one, ear to ear. I was picturing vividly, the roasting barbie...lmao. Dammit man, if I were a single gal, I'd ask you out...*smiles* You sound like a damn interesting date to me. *hugs you tightly even though you're so hot*
Peace, love and laughter,
Laura

S, this is SO ridiculously conicidental. I was (no word of a lie) mulling an idea about in my head. The title? "You
are my Kryptonite". Is that kooky or what? lol Be that as it may, I'm certain it would not have emoted as amusing
a smile as yours did. :P

This was such a delight! I believe this is a problem for more than just a few, but I have to say .. there is NO way
you are going to get me to believe this is from RL experience. With that accent? You must have 'em tripping
over themselves to get to you ... =)

A happy, fun kinda poem, even if it is at your own expense. :P

Hope you are back to normal soon (ie: jet lag and such)

~Breezy

Heheh. Nice one sir. The topic on the surface at least is a bit fantastical, but certainly has undercurrents that make a lot of sense. Nicely done.
