I will never look at skyline the same way
Driving by nearly each day
Imagining memories of what might have been
At a place that once held your presence
Sacred footprints of places you were
When I was yet to exist
Of days I'd like to forget
Months that fade away
With years full of regret
I will never look at skyline the same way
It stuns me night or day
I find myself drawn to it
Whenever anywhere I go
Soothing my soul
And captivating me
I pause for the moment
I'm brought to the same feelings
No matter how much I wish I could deny them
This will be hard to let go
I will never look at skyline the same way
I never looked twice before I met you
This place has new meaning
More than a house
As much as a home
Because here I can never feel alone
The glory days are over
Even more glorious days lied ahead
If I can dare step foot in this hallowed heaven
I will never look at skyline the same way
