My Boy

It happened but I thought it never would
I have a daughter and a son
Waiting for birth I was confident where I stood
Seeing a boy my heart began to run
No way could it be a boy
when all along I knew it was a girl
The sight still filled me with joy
But big hands and feet sent my mind for a whirl
Who am I to predict a birth
With those games I’ll let others toy
While deep down in my soul, that’s filled with mirth
I really wanted a boy

I love your poem. Children are what make a heart complete. I wish the very best of luck for your son's future. |
