Killing Games Madly Insane

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Wednesday, 14th November 2007 @ 12:40:18 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

What in gods name are we doing to one another
all across this great big globe?
It would seem insanity is on the rise,
faith and humanity; some have chosen to disrobe.

We slash and slice our brethren
inflicting pain and killing over idiotic chit and chat.
Taking the life of another, my friend,
seems to some, there's nothing wrong with that.

Right here within our borders,
some hideous and horrendous things do go down.
Crazy folk killing and dying everyday
remember Dahmer, Gein and Gacy the clown?

Some folks seem to enjoy it
the feel of someone succumbing to death.
Some sick people out in this land
relish in taking your last breath.

Kids going to school with guns
all screwed up by societies ways.
Picked on, belittled and torn down,
this ain't no game they're playin'.

We got wars going on with soldier boys;
government teaching killing techniques.
Sent abroad with a gun in their hand,
kids not old enough to legally drink?

Yeah we claim others should pay for their sins
tossing lots of folks in prisons and jails.
We participate in hanging those for their crimes of wars
whilst our own president causes so many ills.

Talk about inhumane acts
and horrid displays of torture and pain.
Our own country used White Phosphorus
and by killing those Iraqi's, just what have we gained?

I saw bodies tortured and burned
in photographs brave soldiers did take.
Tragic things are going on in Iraq,
Mr. Bush, stop this for god's sake.

What has man done for centuries to each other
but to hate, fight, kill and maim?
Here, there, all over the world
human beings are madly insane.

Your poetry falls upon loving and admiering
hearts, and yet the thruth behind it falls on
deft ears. It's the tip of the iceberg my sister
laura, only a shadow in the sunlight of what's to come . . .

Sis....

damn this is hard. You have asked a handful of very good questions ... unfortunately they will in all likeliness,
never be answered in this lifetime. (The afterlife, perhaps .. ).

Why do bad things happen to good people? Why are the young inflicted with fatal diseases? Why is there
a constant bloodshedding somewhere in the world? Why does everyone want to take away the freedoms we
struggle so long and hard to obtain? How can some sleep at night, knowing their decisions have placed
a God-awful torture on others?

It's a mad world, hun. It always has been .. the circumstances, faces and issues change ... but the human
race will always be a ruthless, uncaring, unfeeling group of ambitious know-it-alls with one thing on
their minds ... themselves. Sad, I know.

When does it end? When we cease to mortally exist.

~Breezy
(who never ever thought she was that pessimistic ..)
