Now Comes Tomorrow’s Memories

Now Comes Tomorrow’s Memories

I have…
recollections
of a future, from a past
that somehow I can
simply not recall;
but you were there,
as you are now.

I have…
scars upon
my person, I am certain
belong to someone else;
though now I offer
them to you,
as I did then.

I have…
an awareness
of your body, some innate
recognition;
which belies the fact
that we have
only met.

I have…
impressions
of your touch,
as if I had been birthed;
brought into this world,
with your hand
upon my soul.

I have…
certain inhibitions
that speak softly now
in volumes;
screaming whispers,
that request of me,
this time, let’s get it right.

I have…
premonitions
of a yesterday-tomorrow
wherein there were
star-crossed lovers
who, somehow
failed to meet.

I have…
recollections
of a future, from a past
that somehow I can
simply not recall;
but we are here,
and this
is now.

Naz...wow, this was beautiful and so deep in it's being. The "I have" beginnings to each stanza bring attention to the words. Great write.
Peace,
Laura

That was amazing. The whole poem was, but that caught me. I really liked how you conveyed a feeling of... necessity, I don't know, desire to hold on. Well written, and very poetic.
Take care,
David

whoowhoo! save this one for that magical night of chance meetings, or when you come home really late to an irate partner.

(better learn it off by heart)
