They came in the dark of eve
Wandering aimlessly on
Their shrieks, I am told, and believe
Grew louder and louder till' dawn
I was afraid to go to my door
These ghouls, frightened me so
When I picked myself off the floor
I saw werewolves with vampires in tow
Alas they came to my house
In fear I asked them their quest
With laughter and glee
They yelled "Trick or Treat"
Mere children had scared me the best
