Close the Casket, Dear

Contributed by KelseyKannibal on Sunday, 11th November 2007 @ 05:27:23 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

. . .

The face of a loved one,

Etched in my mind,

A name on a tombstone,

Yet still I will cry.

I think of your smile,

How it was taken away,

By a doage of pills,

On that fateful day.

I think of your laugh,

How it suddenly stopped,

When a fist came your way,

And to the floor you had dropped.

A monster you called father,

And a bystanding mother,

Bruises, inflictions,

It was time for another -

Cut, . . .

A blade in hand,

Slit, . . .

For the things they demand

Hate, . . .

For the things that they did,

Death, . . .

This they call the end

And now I think of that smile,

But now it decays,

My only true friend,

In a dark shallow grave

...
