Bestial Worship ( 'neath the star haunted sky of mist)

Contributed by doug on Thursday, 8th November 2007 @ 06:30:37 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

***
The moon upon the satin sheets;
rays , caressing night's despair ,
fall to grace the raven hair
of she ; that wanton goddess

Once pure. Once.. alas
The devil's eye adored your flesh
'neath the cold of forest moon
gasping 'till the beast was through

Behold the horizon glows
light of heaven burning low
the star haunted sky of mist
birthing that accursed myth

long and quiet shadows grieve
the woods soaked in summer eve
How your flesh doth torture the beast!
Perhaps 'tis he that worships thee!
***

You have such a way with words. Sometimes it hardly matters what you're writing about, the way you write it is the true magic. It's like silk across my mind. i think I would find this poem beautiful even if i didn't speak English. But don't get me wrong, the subject is awesome as well. it's just that my favorite thing about your poems has always been the words you use.

wow doug!! How unbelievably sensual and darkly passionate.
There is more to this piece than what lie on this page ..

And there is an ancient feel to this that I simply adore! :) I love your
word choices and placement. So beautiful!

The last line is full of intrigue.

Exceptional~

Ah, how can the beast not worship such infinite splendor? It demands it from him with soft white purity and cruel lips.

Once again, you take me back to a time where darkness reigns, and I succumb to voyeurism as the macabre scene unfolds. An exceptional piece that clings to you and doesn't let go. You have a wonderful way with words, Doug, that not many possess. Cherish it. Hoping you're well, and writing, lol. Ta, dear.

Wrapped in grieving stars and bestial longing,

~S.
