Childhood memories, In the back of my mind,
Hidden from view, Forgotten by time,
Tears fall down, As these memories I find,
The bad news I heard, like a rushing tide.
Sobs cross the phone, my best friend’s tears,
I knew she was crying, but I didn't know why,
Her words hit me hard, confirming my fears,
And for some reason, I asked, when did he die?
Thursday she said, as my tears began to fall,
As she told me he’d killed himself, how and where...
But I'd thought him so strong, so magnificent, so tall. . .
Now I knew he’d needed us, but we weren't there...
So close to April Fools, I couldn't, wouldn't believe,
But too many varified what I already knew,
So right there, right then, I began to grieve,
and the hopelessness and pain in my heart grew.
Now he haunts my dreams, a welcome site,
And he lives forever in tirn aill's halls,
till I awake to the loss of his souls light,
and the eternal loss his laughter's calls.
There is no end, not realy, to this rhyme...
Cold and still beneath the ground he lies...
There is no happy ending, not this time.
There is only pain when your friend dies.

I wish I could take away your pain, friend, but I can't.
Instead, I can only offer these word of comfort.
Your friend is not really in the ground, he lives on in your heart. As long as you remember, his soul will look down kindly on you and he, too, will remember.
Though, in suicide, there is much regret on both sides of the story, no one is to blame.
Your tears though, are shed for a reason.
You feel, and that's what makes you human.
Your friend is now soaring through the nebulas, and beauty surrounds him.
This, I believe, and I hope that it helps you in some way.
You are a great poet, WH.
Keep writing, and take comfort in knowing that all is not lost. There WILL be a happy ending some day. You just need to look for it. But don't hurt yourself in the process.
Best of luck in life, as we all need,

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Please don't blame yourself as God is the giver and taker of life.
I lost a great friend a couple years ago.
He was my gauardian angel on planet Earth and his spirit stays around with his heavenly supper powered winds still Guards over me.
A beautifull write but sad always makes for awesome writing.
Hang tuff, friend.
God bless you-n-yours,
emy |

very gripping poem of true life and death and the crushing ruined souls it leaves behind..."time does not all wounds heal". |
