She haunts my every waking thought
Nor is there escape in sleep
Her name forever on my lips
Her image my heart does keep
My dream a fantastic but futile hope
Like the rainbow in the springtime sky
Beautiful and tempting, yet distant and illusory
It's the reason the heavens cry
But cry I can't, for I must not show
That this ache exists at all
For this torch I bear, is mine alone
For this wraith did I just fall
