Spilled Milk

Puckered like petals
Scattered in mud
The taste of these flowers
Forever, then done
Yellow haired school girls
Arrive in this state
As difficult as they could make
Stones like a stairwell
We all clamber down
White walls, this is prison
Braiding thread without sound
The stones fall around us
Ties come undone
Flashes, spinning circles
And the birds break out in song

Hmmm Rachel, I really liked this piece. It was brief but written quite well. I wasn't sure exactly where this took you, but when I was reading this...and I read it a few times...I felt this wondrous feeling of release, of freedom. Maybe it's that last line...
"And the birds break out in song"
Yeah, I like that....
Thanks for sharing.
Peace,

This poem is, to me, awesome.
It reflects a complex vision in a
rare structure.
It takes the mind to different places
and I like the mystery of it.
