Turtles may be slow; I envy them their shell,
As fish live in water, my gills will never tell.
The creatures of our earth to see.
The ignorance, the nativity.
They suffer with us now.

Envy them I will, as now
They hold the earth they teach the how.
Listen close to each through change,
The ways in which they re-arrange,
To hold fast to the earth.

They share with us their unknown end,
Yet still have hope we are the friend.
Such trust for humans to discard,
The heart we've lost for high regard.
To leave them all intact.

A terribly terrifying picture, but one that I am afraid will be witnessed by us all some time in the future, how long from now, who knows. We are devastating our planet at an alarming rate. Very poignant write, my friend.
Peace and hugs,
Laura
