Pale lunar light bounces off your sweet face
as we lie together in the endless field.
Cool winds turn the grass into our private ballet
Blades sway back and forth in an off beat harmony
Goose bumps rise on our skin, but not from the wind
Sparks fly between us as we lay there together
I catch the reflection of the moon in your eyes
Wondering how it seems more beautiful there
Hopelessly I have fallen, there is no denying it
I lean in to kiss your cheek, and find tears instead of flesh
I'm sorry you say, We can't do this, I'm not ready
Then rush off leaving my heart as trampled as the flattened grass
