Do You Not Care?

Contributed by MelodiousCorruption on Sunday, 4th November 2007 @ 11:24:39 AM in AEST
Topic: war

Do you not care?
For the lives lost.
The lives lost without good reason.
Away from the soil of their birth.

Do you not care?
As you sit with your own family.
Family is what they never see.
Seeing only death and what you suppose to be glory.

Do you not care?
Though the world argues against your views.
Are you above others?
Because a delirious country voted you into position.

Do you not care?
You are safe in your white residence.
Feasting on fine foods.
While brave soldiers feast on rations.

Do you not care?
That your actions cause misery.
Of course not.
As long as the misery is way from you.

Do you not care?
Sending men and woman for an unrealistic cause.
You seem not to care, sir.
For us as we fear.

Well written and really not harsh enough. *winks* Mr. Bush is a sick individual who thrives on money, money, money. I oft wonder when will this man pay for his war crimes, his crimes against humanity? I am sickened by a human need to constantly control and harm. Love my country and my world but fear the so-called "leaders". I am glad that I am still able to write this, I fear one day "they'll" knock on my door calling me a Terrorist....for voicing my opinion on my government. The world saddens me these days, so much is changing, so many checking out.
Thanks for sharing this thought provoking write.
Much peace,
Laura

Interesting take on the American "leader".
It deeply worries me that people so blindly follow him.
Man of God? Then I must say that if God is such a cruel being.
To allow such blasphemy. To allow Mr. Bush to use
his name so falsely. Then with good reason, God can
not exist. People are evil and will use whatever they
can to rise themselves higher. If you sleep on a
bed of lies, eventually you'll end up with nothing.
And no one to break the fall. But, when does a lie
become the truth? Perhaps when we choose to
believe everything to blindly because we don't want
to stand up to what is apparently "bigger" than us.
I don't see a great man when I see George bush.
I don't see a brave man or a leader. I see a person,
that I can't quite understand. A person that says
he's for the people and yet his people he kills.
Ah hypocrisy at its finest.
In the words of System of a Down, "Why don't presidents fight the war,
why do they always send the poor?"
Excellent write. I'll get out of your hair now =P
