BY THE STRICT CONSTITUTION OF GOD

Psalm 73:18 "Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou castedst them down into destruction."

BY THE STRICT CONSTITUTION OF GOD
By David Rios

There are laws in this world
One must obey.
To hinder what we do,
And what we can say.
Their purpose was established
In the beginning,
And castigated those who
Thrived off of sinning.
Many have resisted
But all have failed.
By the strict constitution of God
Their lives have been nailed.

In a mansion within a city, lived
A man successful in his life.
He believed having everything
Would surely end his strife.
Jealous was this man of everyone,
Even after having all that he earned.
So instead of gaining all these items,
His possessions would soon be burned.
Alone at home he prepared a feast
But a fire had caught his robe’s sash,
And by the strict constitution of God
His property and he became dust and ash.

On a beach in Europe
Only God knows where.
Lounged a little old priest,
Who in his teaching, did not care.
His vacation was provided
Thanks to those religious fools.
But his life would soon be concluded,
And cast down to Lucifer’s fiery pools.
He clenched his chest,
For it throbbed with pain.
By the strict constitution of God,
The sinner had been slain.
Outside a store window
Peering in a man so poor.
He ran in quickly and exited with
An item through the door.
Justifiable he believed his actions to have been,
For his crime he didn’t care.
But giving leniency for the smallest sin
Would not be truly fair.
To avoid the police he ran
Through an area of reconstruction.
But by the strict constitution of God
The pillar crushed his life in Destruction.

In another setting,
Wandering the dark city streets,
Was a married man about forty.
A mistress’s presence is what he seeks.
The prostitute was approached.
She helped commit his crime.
He satisfied his needs,
And paid her for her time.
But just before he left,
The prostitute unsheathed her knife.
And by the strict constitution of God,
She stabbed and ended his life.

As for the prostitute,
Her crime was not in the sex.
But it was the murder
That placed her life in a hex.
She stood over the man haunted
And crying. Her tears pounded the floor.
She was afraid no sorrow felt could
Liberate her from Death’s gore.
To her abdomen, she pointed the knife.
But before she released her soul,
By the strict constitution of God,
Her brain erupted within her skull.

Outside a child is swinging
Joyfully in the rain.
His parents told him no,
But his promise he has feigned.
The clouds above him darkened
Growing bad and then worse,
For disobeying his parents
Has brought to him his curse.
The lightning struck the branch
Splitting the large tree, and
By the strict constitution of God
His body was crushed and left lifelessly.

Confined inside her office
At work rather than church.
A woman rewrote all the papers
Her coffee had besmirched.
The money she worked so hard for
Had replaced the Holy Day
And because of this atrocious sin,
She would not receive her pay.
Exhausted from her restless day
She darted into the street.
And by the strict constitution of God,
The truck separated her head and feet.

Within a small bathroom prepared
An elderly woman for her shower.
And in there she stayed bathing
For over half an hour.
When the scorching water touched her skin
His name she cried in vain.
But because of this sin she committed
He would punish her for her pain.
She stepped out of the water,
Unaware of what she said
By the strict constitution of God, she slipped
On the floor she cracked her head.

Reflected through the mirror,
High above her bed,
Was a beautiful woman’s body.
Upon it a gorgeous head.
She held her nose up high.
She thought she was the best of all.
But little was she aware that,
To the Lord’s sword she would fall.
In the corner of the image,
Grew an unsuspected crack,
And by the strict constitution of God
Beauty shattered, stabbing her in the back.

Ruling a dominant country,
And worshiped for his wealth.
A king who believed he was everything
Was suffering from his health.
He had worked so hard to be a god
But in reality he has failed.
For his soul will be cast down to Hell’s pits,
And there he will be jailed.
A feast within the kingdom given
The king a feeling he hadn’t felt before.
But by the strict constitution of God
His heart beat once and then no more.

For every sin we commit,
Follows a consequence we must suffer.
No matter what it may be
Killing, stealing, or a secret lover.
Do not be naive,
Rather be full of fear.
For he will smear you existence
Without shedding a tear.
And when you’re dead and gone
You will hear no bell.
Because by the strict Constitution of God,
Your sentence is not Heaven, but Hell.
