Far Too Late Too Make Amends

You’d nurture me like a mother to a child
You were the incandescent rays of sunshine
Peering through the clouds.
Yet you became the hot cloth on my fevered
Head,
When the rain clouds came last summer
They shut you out of my world.
Now Nothing Pleases
Nothing Hurts
Nothing Moves.
The color faded away along with you
Cuz
The world is black and white.
Now I follow your footsteps in the dark
Hoping to find the sunshine that isn’t there.
I turn to my faith, and I turn to myself,
To remind myself of why I’m here, why I’m
Following this road that leads to an empty
Inertia, where I become frigid like a child’s toy left
Buried in the snow.
