Good Enough

I reconstructed my life
Based on what you told me to do,
And now you decide
That I’m not good enough for you.
But I tried and I tried,
To show you I care,
But you turned away from me,
And pretended I was never there.
I blamed myself for it all,
And continued to try to succeed,
Your attention was all I wanted,
Your approval, all I need.
But I never got it,
And you swear I never will.
What have I not done
For your wish to be fulfilled?
I worked so hard for years,
With nothing but sadness to show.
In the agony of perfection,
I was stunted before I could grow.
So is there something wrong with me
Or do you just not care?
Will I ever be good enough,
And is this really fair?
But no matter what I perceive,
I will keep fighting for you to notice me.
For it’s all I’ve ever really known,
And maybe it’s all we’ll ever be.

Good writing altho very sad. Sometimes you just have to walk away.
You gotta live for yourself first.
Hope you get tuff and figure it out soon.
