All the lights out with a pillow on his head
A broken down man at the side of his bed
A room where his heart and soul used to rest
Is now his own grave dug to the deepest.
What does it take to break this man down
A kick? A push? to break his ego crown
He can deal with the rage of a merciless man
But can never stand up to the sight of this woman.
With his arms so weak, he goes down on his knees
He cried out so loud, to the heavens he pleads
He prayed so hard that mountains broke apart
But none can compare to his broken down heart
"Why did You send someone I can never have!?
Does it please You that I am broken down by love!?
Does it make You laugh that I hate myself now!?
Or did You think that it was funny somehow!?"
"I never asked for anything great in my life
But You plunged in my heart a steel-rusted knife
What have I done to deserve this much pain!?
Please undo it now for it's driving me insane"
She may never know about the love I hide
And the tears that I have kept so long inside
So tonight I take her memories in my sleep
The only place where her love is mine to keep.

| It's hard to hold on to something that you know would never be yours in any way you think of. You just have to learn to let go and face the fact that while good things never last, some don't even start. Cheer up! |
