A Lighthouse In The Distance

Contributed by ManowarManiac on Thursday, 6th March 2003 @ 09:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

At one point in time I was just a stowaway
sailing hopelessly aboard the ship of fools
adrift amidst the desolate sea of silence
in search of the end of this lonely world
I was not able to fully interpret my dreams
as my future was haunted by harsh torrents
rippling throughout the realm of my mind
All of the battles that I intrepidly endured
during those years of my inner solitude
helped me upon my journey to discover
the peaceful shores of your everlasting love
The sparkle in your eyes gives me strength
to brave the mercilessly unrelenting storms
thrusting waves across my starboard bow
The sounds of serenity through your voice
disperse the clouds to reveal my horizon
while calming the rough waters around me
Every promise you bestow upon my heart
hoists my mainsail to unforeseen heights
giving me a reason to complete my voyage
If you only knew how much you mean to me
for you are an angel of the light most pure
that I feel Heaven must undoubtedly miss
I will commit to change my aimless course
no longer to float without any destinations
for I now see a lighthouse in the distance

Thanx Joni, I did read your Revenge of the Sea poem and really enjoyed it, thanx for sharing that with me. I agree with you that our styles of writing compliment each other.
