The Good In Me

The Good In Me

I cannot find the good in me
You have stolen it all away
I try to find the good in me
But the darkness seems to stay

I cannot see the good in me
I do not know where to start
Searching for the good in me
That I know lives in my heart

I am hurting for the good in me
But I cannot seem to cry
Is it because there is no good in me?
Will I ever stop asking why?

Where is that innocent good in me?
The good that was so real
You took it when you hurt me
Now I'm not sure how to feel

I know there must be good in me
But every time I think of you
I lose grasp of the good in me
And evil comes creeping through

Why did you need the good in me?
Did you have none of your own?
So you captured the good in me
And left me all alone

Why did you take the good in me?
I hate the very thought of you
You should not have used the good in me
I hope you feel as ashamed as I do

So, how do I find the good in me?
Among all the darkness inside
You cannot keep the good in me
You can no longer hide

As for this missing good in me
I will not let you win
I know there is a good in me
I will find it again

A good first post. You used a lot of repetition, some of it seemed forced, but the emotion in your words never let off. Well done, but you may want to try free verse, that way you don't have to stick to a rule, and let the words flow how they will.
Take care,
David
